Disc cartridge
The present invention relates to a disc cartridge.
Recently, as the optical disk capable of recording / reproducing, digital versatile disks (hereinafter referred to as "DVD-RAM"), magneto optical disks (hereinafter referred to as "MOD"), and the like, have become popular. Such a recording / recycling disc requires a protection cartridge for preventing contamination and damage of the information recording surface by an external pollution source. Therefore, a bare disk (a disc without a cartridge) for recording / playback is inserted into the driver deck while being mounted on a cartridge. On the other hand, the current disk is required to increase the capacity, and as an example, the magneto-optical disk currently commercialized is about 650 MB in a 120 mm outer diameter disk such as a compact disk (hereinafter referred to as "CD"). It can record / play back and is expected to be large in capacity from 6 GB to 14 GB in the future.
In recording, the magnetic head is used for recording, and the recording method is adopted for detecting the change in polarization angle according to the optical-to-magnetic conversion characteristics using photoelectric elements. In the process of recording the information, the magneto-optical material is heated by heating the magneto-optical material applied to the surface of the magneto-optical disk to the Curie temperature to lose the magnetism. Will be recorded.
On the other hand, the conventional CD has a rotational speed of 500-600 rpm (revolutions per minute; "rpm") when accessed, but a large-capacity high-density disk has a rotational speed of 1800 rpm, and the rotational speed of the disk according to the demand for high speed in the future. Is on a gradual pace. This tends to be a major obstacle to high speed due to the resonance effect of the vibration frequency due to the rotational speed of the high density disk.
A disc cartridge according to the prior art will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4.
1, there is shown a disc cartridge according to the prior art which has a disc 4 for reproducing / recording a large amount of information and a cartridge for protecting the disc. The disk 4 can record / reproduce a large amount of information, and a cartridge is mounted to protect the disk from external contamination and damage.
On the other hand, the form in which air flows as the disk 4 rotates at a predetermined rotational angular velocity Is shown in Figs. 2A and 2B. In particular, as shown in Figure 2B as the disk rotates the spiral air flow is generated on the surface of the disk, it can be seen that the air flow formed in the rotational direction of the disk according to the thickness of the disk is generated.
In addition, the form in which air flows as the cartridge-mounted disk rotates at a predetermined rotational angular velocity Is illustrated in FIGS. 3A and 3B. In the cartridge, spiral air flow and vortex are formed to increase the vibration frequency of the disk when the disk rotates at high speed. Referring to the spiral air flow in detail, as shown in FIG. 4, the air flow in the disk is proportional to the flow speed of the disk according to the speed at which the disk rotates. ", And inversely proportional to the rotational speed of the disk as the height changes, it can be seen that the rotational speed of the air particles is" 0 "on the wall of the cartridge. As a result, the air flow on the surface of the disk is fast, and as the height changes in the cartridge direction, the air flow becomes slow and the flow of air in the disk spirals. Referring to the formation of the vortex in detail, as shown in Fig. 3A, air is introduced from the outside up and down the disk. Some of the air entering the cartridge travels to the edge of the disk and the rest flows out again. At this time, the air introduced from the upper side to the edge of the disk has a flow of air that rotates in a constant direction at the edge of the disk to meet the flow of air introduced from the lower side is called vortex. On the other hand, the spiral air flow and vortex formed inside the disc cartridge cause vibration to the disc during the high speed rotation of the disc, which causes deformation of the disc's outer circumference to record the data at the incorrect position when the information is recorded. The correct data cannot be reproduced even during playback, which adversely affects recording / playback of information on the disc.
As described above, the disc cartridge according to the related art has a problem that recording / reproducing of information is difficult by increasing the disk vibration frequency by air flow inside the cartridge as the disc rotates.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a disc cartridge which minimizes the vibration of the disc.

In order to achieve the above object, the disc cartridge of the present invention has a container for protecting a disc for recording / reproducing a large amount of information, and an air flow guide means for guiding the flow of air formed inside the container by rotation of the disc to the outside. And an air outlet means for outflowing the air flow guided by the airflow guide means.
Other objects and features of the present invention other than the above object will become apparent from the description of the embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.
A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 5A and 5B.
Referring to Fig. 5B, there is shown a disc cartridge according to the present invention having a disc 12 for recording / reproducing a large amount of information, and a cartridge 12 having air flow guide means and air outlet means. The air flow guide means 18 is formed in a shape protruding from the inside of the cartridge to guide the helical air flow formed by the rotation of the disk to the air outlet means. The size and shape of the airflow guide means 18 may be of any shape or size suitable for guiding the helical airflow formed in the disc towards the air outlet means. In addition, the air outlet means 20 is formed on the side of the cartridge to perform the function of flowing out the spiral air flow and the vortex guided by the air flow guide means 18 to the outside. The size and shape of the air outlet means 20 will be irrelevant to any shape or size suitable for outflow of helical airflow and vortices.
As described above, the disc cartridge of the present invention has the advantage of forming the air flow guide means and the air outlet means to minimize the vibration of the disc to facilitate the recording / reproduction of information.
Those skilled in the art will appreciate that various changes and modifications can be made without departing from the technical spirit of the present invention. Therefore, the technical scope of the present invention should not be limited to the contents described in the detailed description of the specification but should be defined by the claims.
